Phil Wetherell is Principal Water Quality at Urban Utilities, responsible for drinking water quality strategy and frameworks, risk management and operational assurance across one of Australia’s largest water service providers.
He is a scientist with a MSc in Environmental Health and has over 20 years of experience in the water and mining sectors, including senior leadership roles spanning general management, technical and digital services, customer service, incident management, strategic risk and resilience.
Phil specialises in drinking water network risk management, water quality incident response, and the design and implementation of best‑practice drinking water quality management systems. He is passionate about practical scientific solutions, clear communication, and improving public health outcomes through safe and reliable water services.
