Dr Kaili Li is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and Project Manager at the School of Chemical Engineering, The University of Queensland (UQ). She obtained her Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering in 2025 from UQ. Kaili currently coordinates a large Australian Research Council (ARC) Linkage Project in close collaboration with water utilities across Australia and New Zealand.
Her research focuses on quantifying and mitigating direct greenhouse gas emissions (N₂O and CH₄) from urban wastewater treatment systems, with an emphasis on full-scale monitoring, emission accounting, and pathways to net-zero wastewater services. She has published multiple peer-reviewed journal papers, works closely with industry partners on applied research and decision-support tools, and has received several early-career awards recognising her research impact and leadership.
