David Shallcross is an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of Melbourne, Australia. David is a Member of the European Federation of Chemical Engineering’s Working Party on Education and until recently was Chair of the Institution of Chemical Engineers’ Education Subject Group. In 2006 he was awarded IChemE’s Frank Morton Medal recognizing excellence and innovation in chemical engineering education and in 2007 received a Carrick Citation for sustained commitment to excellence and leadership in chemical engineering education. He has published several engineering books as well as books written for secondary school mathematics educators. His research interests include chemical engineering education, ion exchange processes and psychrometry of non-conventional systems.
