Principles of Solid Waste Management

This course is not currently scheduled for a future event

Learn the principles of Solid Waste Management as applied to urban waste, and learn how to identify materials reuse and recovery opportunities.

There is a lot of mystique surrounding the various Alternative Waste Technologies for the recovery of secondary resources and ultimate disposal of residual waste materials.  This course aims to provide participants with an understanding of these technical approaches, and the tools necessary to identify which approach may be most appropriate.  Case studies will be developed and evaluated and opportunities will be provided for participants to develop practical solutions through workshop sessions.
